For those of you who have self-hosted WordPress websites there’s been a recent update to version 3.4 that’s brought a few nice additions to the functionality. Here’s my three favourites.
A great thing about WordPress is all the themes that are available. However, one of the niggles was that you’d install and activate a theme and then have to quickly customise it with your logo, colours etc while it was actually live on the web. Now you can install a theme, customise it and then activate it. A small change but a good one.
Still with themes there are now more options for sizing the header image and also you now have the option to choose from the media library too – so no more re-downloading.
More options for captioning -
Basic HTML support has been added to the caption field in the image uploader. This allows you to add links — great for photo credits or licensing details — and basic formatting such as bold and italicized text.
You can now embed tweets into a post and it includes all the Twitter options like reply or retweet. Simply paste the tweet url on a separate line and an image will appear in your post. There’s a list of all the sites you can embed HERE.
